Technique Class
This class is designed to prepare dancers to be ready - for any type of work, any style of dance.
“Using the balance” is a key phrase, which will be worked on throughout this class. All my movement knowledge is combined, from Capoeira to Classical Ballet, in addition to a lifetime of professional experience in companies and as a freelancer, offering an incredible amount of information for dancers.
It is a very physical and unique class: Dancers are warmed up by intricate floor work exercises, moving on to pirouette combinations, followed by movement across the floor (focusing on strengthening the dancer’s body by sliding, gliding, rolling etc. across the floor - allowing the dancer to accumulate a vast vocabulary of movement), to conclude a class combination is created using all the tools worked on throughout the class.
Class duration:
90-180min.
Level: Beginners-Professional

Teacher's Class
The teacher's class is very similar to my classic technique class.
“Less is more” is definitely a fitting description of this class, as I will break down my movement slowly to help teachers gain a deeper understanding of what they are doing, practicing on their own bodies, eventually being able to pass it on to their own students more easily.
Even if the teachers may not immediately manage to execute everything correctly, they should at least gain understanding where my type of movement comes from, the sense of it and where it can lead them, in an organic way - which is essential to my technique. Even though teachers will be “going back to basics”, they will feel their body and mind challenged.
Class duration:
min. 3h
Level: Beginners-Professional

Choreographic Atelier
This can be seen as a “creation workshop”. In this atelier the focus lies on creating a choreography, using my own movement language, mixed with the one of the dancers. At the end of the workshop there will be a finished choreography.
I am used to working with dancers who come from completely different backgrounds and who have big differences in levels. Equalising these differences is one of my specialties - everybody will be challenged equally. Depending on the work time given, the duration of the choreography varies, as well as the style of it, this depending on the dancers participating.
If possible, it is always very helpful for the students/dancers to have a technique class before this atelier, as it allows them to deepen their understanding of my movement and therefore enter in the right flow of it immediately.
Class duration:
min. 2days à 3h
Level: Beginners-Professional

Composition/ Laboratory Class
The focus of the composition/laboratory class is enhancing the vocabulary of the students in terms of creating for themselves and improvising. They will be guided through many tasks, given time to understand their own bodies and learning how to create movement phrases for themselves, as a preparation for future choreographing. They will understand how to use a “partitura” as a useful tool and mean to enhance their creativity.
This class is also a great way to prepare for auditions. The importance of being “ready” to perform/deliver will be emphasised and students will be guided towards being able to show themselves in the best way possible in such a scenario. Depending on specific wishes a certain topic can be focused on, as the possibilities for this class are vast.
